Few sailing grounds in the Mediterranean pack four genuinely different islands into such short crossings. From Palma, Ibiza is a six to eight hour reach across open water, Formentera sits barely half an hour beyond that across the Freus channel, and Menorca is a comfortable day's sail to the north-east. The result is a sailing week (or a proper two-week charter) where you can wake up somewhere entirely different from where you dropped anchor the night before, without ever spending more than a day at sea to get there. Steady summer thermals, reliably warm water from June onward and a chain of well-run marinas mean the logistics take care of themselves, leaving the sailing itself as the main event.
Each island brings its own character to a Balearic sailing itinerary. Mallorca offers the widest range of anchorages and the most sheltered starting point, with the dramatic Tramuntana coast to the north and calmer south-west coves for easier days. Ibiza and Formentera together form the archipelago's most photographed stretch of water, with Es Vedra's cliffs, the beach clubs of San Antonio and the turquoise shallows of Ses Illetes all within a short hop of each other. Menorca, quieter and less developed, rewards sailors with a string of narrow calas along its south coast that are only really accessible by boat. Every charter is skippered by a professional holding Spanish Maritime Authority certification, so no licence or previous sailing experience is required from you or your guests. The skipper builds the day-by-day route around the forecast (deciding which crossing to make on which day, which anchorages are sheltered from the current wind direction, and where lunch will actually be comfortable) while you decide how involved you want to be, from taking the helm on an open-water leg to simply enjoying the islands from the deck.

Depart Puerto Portals and either sail overnight or make the six to eight hour crossing in daylight, arriving in time for a first evening ashore in Ibiza Town or a quiet anchorage nearby.
A short crossing of the Freus channel to Formentera, anchoring off Ses Illetes and Es Pujols before working back along Ibiza's west coast past Es Vedra and the coves near San Antonio.
The passage back to Mallorca, timed against the forecast, followed by a slower day or two along the sheltered coves of Mallorca's south-west coast before the charter ends in Palma.
Charters of ten days or more can extend north-east to Menorca's calas before returning to Mallorca, completing a genuine four-island loop rather than a two-island week.
